Blood Dungeon All Characters (Bunkmates)

Nine named bunkmates. Default weapons stay unpublished for the hotfix pair.

Last updated:

Blood Dungeon ships nine bunkmates. Public Steam copy, official trailers, and launch reviews name seven of them in enough detail to write a full kit card: Gun Man, Barbarian, Skinja, Baby, Hypnomancer, Leggy, and Bug. Messhof’s 26 August 2026 Steam hotfixes name the remaining two: Powder Keg and Revivalist. Those two pages stay hedged on weapons and unlocks. This roster does not invent default guns or Bone prices for empty tooltips.

Character choice sets your default weapon and movement trick. It does not lock the rest of the arsenal. Any bunkmate can pick up any weapon that is already in the shared pool. Unlocking someone still matters because their default can enter that pool for everyone else. Rankings live on the Tier List. Confirmed unlock notes live on Unlock Characters. Challenge hunting — including the Leech trophy, which is not a playable character — lives on Achievements. The game launched 25 August 2026 as single-player only. There is single-player only and no extra session promised on the Steam page.

Gun Man

PC Gamer and IGN treat Gun Man as the character you learn the game with. He starts with a machine gun: a steady automatic stream that teaches you to kite while the weapon does the shooting. Public write-ups do not give him a unique movement extra beyond the shared wall-and-ceiling kit every bunkmate uses. Use him to learn Catacombs layouts and Blood pickup routes before you chase specialised movement.

  • Default weapon: Machine gun
  • Movement: Standard platforming (walls, ceilings, jumps)
  • Playstyle: Keep moving, let the bullet stream cover adds, grab a close-range orbit weapon when a second slot opens
  • Best for: First hours, open sightlines, players who want a reliable ranged default

Barbarian

The Barbarian is the nude dual-sword bunkmate. Two blades circle at melee range, and Streamer Mode exists because the default look is a censor bar over an otherwise naked runner. He is in the bunkhouse with Gun Man — not a late shop myth. Dual swords teach you to stay close enough for the orbit to hit without eating every projectile.

  • Default weapon: Dual circling swords
  • Movement: Standard; Streamer Mode is a presentation option, not a mobility buff
  • Playstyle: Circle-strafe at melee range. Open a second slot for a gun as soon as you can
  • Best for: Learning melee orbit weapons, Streamer Mode sessions, close rooms

Skinja

Official marketing shows Skinja with a shotgun, cartwheels, and outright speed. Mark Essen told IGN the name is the joke: a naked ninja. Streamer Mode covers that look, the same as Barbarian. Speed is the trait reviews keep repeating.

  • Default weapon: Shotgun
  • Movement: High ground speed and cartwheels
  • Playstyle: Kite in open rooms; cartwheel out of boss telegraphs. Shotgun wants you closer than the machine gun
  • Best for: Open floors, repositioning, players who already understand enemy wind-ups

Baby

Baby brings a magnum and extra gold. Steam lists a Bone Shop achievement for buying ten items; that is an achievement track, not proof that Baby’s unlock is a published price. This wiki does not invent shop costs. Extra gold speeds Bone income once you can actually play as Baby — after you already know Gun Man or Barbarian.

  • Default weapon: Magnum
  • Movement: Standard speed with extra gold per run
  • Playstyle: Long-range picks. Magnum hits hard without needing a full synergy tree
  • Best for: After Catacombs feels readable; gold-focused sessions

Hypnomancer

Hypnomancer uses gas. The confirmed unlock is the second boss in the Boiler — that fight is also an achievement. Gas is area denial: drop a cloud in a choke and let adds walk through it.

  • Default weapon: Gas
  • Movement: Not specified in public materials
  • Playstyle: Corridor and choke control. Weaker in wide open rooms unless you also pick up a bullet weapon
  • Best for: Boiler, Corridor, and other tight industrial layouts

Leggy

Official materials give Leggy climbable webs. Webs double as platforms, which is why she is the named answer for Flood water. Other bunkmates still swim and climb; Leggy just builds extra routes.

  • Default weapon: Webs (attack and platform)
  • Movement: Climbable webs; especially useful in Flood
  • Playstyle: Shoot a web, climb it, shoot again. Vertical arenas reward her more than flat ones
  • Best for: Flood, high rooms, emergency ledges

Bug

Official marketing is blunt: Bug flies. Flight ignores ground piles and floor hazards. Public listings do not name a unique default gun the way they name Gun Man’s machine gun or Skinja’s shotgun, so this page does not invent one.

  • Default weapon: Not named in public materials
  • Movement: Flight
  • Playstyle: Leave the floor when density spikes. Flight is the strongest published mobility hook
  • Best for: Tight rooms, hazard floors, chest routes that punish walking

Powder Keg

Named in the 26 August hotfix beside Revivalist. IGN’s Essen interview wanted a big body with a big hitbox and a big weapon; a powder keg is an explosive barrel, and that joke fits. This page still will not write a starter weapon or an arena gate. Dedicated notes: Powder Keg.

  • Default weapon: Unpublished
  • Movement: Unpublished
  • Playstyle: Treat the first sessions like an unknown kit in a familiar arena
  • Best for: After Catacombs is readable; take the patched 26 August client

Revivalist

Named in that same hotfix, then again in hotfix 2 (“for real this time”). Candlemaker (“come back from the dead”) sits in the same theme and is not a published unlock. Dedicated notes: Revivalist.

  • Default weapon: Unpublished
  • Movement: Unpublished
  • Playstyle: Watch one death cycle before spending rare cards
  • Best for: After the two hotfixes are installed; not a Leech substitute

Shared weapon pool

Unlocking a bunkmate can add their default weapon to drops for everyone else. Beating the second Boiler boss for Hypnomancer is how gas shows up later for Gun Man. That is the real reason to chase unlocks even if you never switch off your starter. See Unlock Characters for what is confirmed versus guessed, and the tier list for launch-week rankings that stay hedged on purpose.

Leech is not a bunkmate. On Steam, Leech is an achievement: defeat Wyrm in under 30 seconds. If an older guide told you to “main Leech,” it confused that trophy with a character. Check Achievements for the real trophy list.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How many bunkmates are in Blood Dungeon?

Nine. Seven kits were public in reviews and marketing. Steam’s 26 August hotfixes name Powder Keg and Revivalist as the remaining pair.

Is Leech a playable character?

No. Leech is a Steam achievement for defeating Wyrm in under 30 seconds. It is not a bunkmate.

Who should beginners start with?

Learn Gun Man (machine gun) and Barbarian (dual circling swords). Unlock Baby after those two feel comfortable. Do not treat Leech as a character.

How does the shared weapon pool work?

Once a bunkmate is unlocked, their default weapon can appear as a drop for other characters. Hypnomancer’s gas is the clearest example after the second Boiler boss.
